Medilytix Bureau : Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch its first electric scooter under the new sub-brand Vida today. The e-scooter’s launch was originally scheduled for July 2022, but it was delayed multiple times by the company. The two-wheeler is set to be unveiled at its Global Centre for Innovation and Technology in Jaipur.
The e-scooter will likely be offered in two variants: the Vida V1 Plus and the Vida V1 Pro. It is speculated that Hero Vida will carry a price tag of around Rs 1 lakh and compete against rival brands such as Ola S1, Ather 450X, TVS iQube, Okinawa Okhi-90 and more.
Just ahead of the festival, Hero MotoCorp is launching its first e-scooter in the Indian market. The company expects that the two-wheeler will attract consumers to its new brand and earn its place in the growing EV market.
The new electric scooter could feature Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation. Besides, it may start remotely through phones.
Earlier last week, Hero MotoCorp reported flat sales in September 2022 as the company said that domestic sales stood at 5,07,690 units in September as compared with 5,05,462 units in the year-ago period.
Hero MotoCorp’s emerging mobility brand – Vida, has set up a unique, one-of-its-kind installation (first by any auto major globally) at Cyber Hub in Gurugram. Several parts and prototypes of the upcoming e-scooter were rigorously tested at Hero MotoCorp’s world-class R&D center, the Center of Innovation and Technology (CIT), Jaipur.
