Medilytix Bureau : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express during his two-day visit to Gujarat On September 30.
According to a government statement on Tuesday, Modi will lay the foundation stone for infrastructure projects worth Rs 29,000 crore in the state.
He will also take a ride on the Vande Bharat Express to Kalupur Railway Station on the same day.
The third Vande Bharat train, which has completed its trials and is fit to be operated commercially, will zoom from 0-100 kmph in 52 seconds as compared to the earlier version, which attained the same speed in 54.6 seconds, reported PTI.
During this time, the speed touched a speed of 180 kmph in many places.
Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav previously stated that the train will have wifi-enabled content on demand and 32-inch LCD TVs, up from 24 inches in previous versions.
He was told that the newer model would have 15% more energy-efficient air conditioners and dust-free clean air cooling of the traction motor, making travel more comfortable.
The side recliner seat facility, which is being provided to Executive Class passengers, will now be made available to all classes.
In the new design of the train, a photo-catalytic ultraviolet air purification system is installed in the Roof Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) for air purification.
As recommended by the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, this system is designed and installed on both ends of RMPU to filter and clear the air of germs, bacteria, viruses, etc.
The Vande Bharat is India’s first semi-high-speed train with a self-propelled engine. It is completely manufactured in India and has automatic doors, air-conditioned chair car coaches, and a revolving chair which can rotate up to 180 degrees.
The first Vande Bharat Express from Delhi to Varanasi was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2019.
The Vande Bharat Express, which became the fastest train in the country, has proved with its speed that it not only makes passengers reach their destination in less time but also delivers a flight-like experience to them.
The IRCTC has said that the competing Vande Bharat train would eat into the revenue of the Tejas Express running between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The Railways is scheduled to manufacture 75 Vande Bharat trains by August 2023.
The two Vande Bharat trains that are operational are those between New Delhi-Varanasi and New Delhi-Vaishnodevi Katra.
