Burla, Odisha: In a momentous event on November 21, 2023, President of India, Droupadi Murmu, graced and addressed the 15th annual convocation of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology.

Addressing the distinguished gathering, President Murmu emphasized the pivotal role of youth in the development of the country. Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, she highlighted that the graduating students would play a crucial part in constructing vital infrastructure such as roads, buildings, dams, and factories, utilizing the latest technologies. As engineers, they are envisioned to be the architects of progress, serving as innovators bridging the gap between imagination and reality. She noted that the skills and knowledge acquired in the rapidly progressing world would form the foundation of their future and the nation’s future.

President Murmu expressed her satisfaction at the successful experimental launch of a special Satellite Launch Vehicle developed by the students of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology. The initiative received commendation from ISRO, leading to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for further collaborative research. Additionally, she acknowledged the establishment of an Innovation and Incubation Center on the university campus, commending students and faculty for their creative work.

Setting an ambitious target to make India a developed country before 2047, President Murmu emphasized the crucial role of technology in accelerating development. She underscored the importance of technocrats and engineers in realizing this vision.

Addressing the graduating students, President Murmu urged them to measure success not only by personal achievements but also by the positive impact they make on others’ lives. She called for a commitment to excellence, not just for personal gain, but also for the progress of the nation. Encouraging them to become agents of positive change, advocates of diversity, and champions of integrity, she emphasized the need to embrace technical advancements without forgetting traditional values.

President Murmu concluded by highlighting the National Education Policy – 2020, emphasizing the importance of mother tongue, tradition, and culture in education. She stressed the inclusive development of the country, dedicated to the entire humanity, while preserving the values inherent in Indian culture.
