New Delhi: In response to the tragic train accident that occurred between Alamanda and Kantakapalle section in Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss the situation.

Prime Minister Modi took immediate stock of the circumstances following the unfortunate train derailment and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. He also extended his best wishes for the swift recovery of the injured passengers.

Furthermore, in an act of support and empathy, the Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia relief measure from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). Families of each deceased victim will receive Rs. 2 lakh, and those who sustained injuries in the rail accident will be granted Rs. 50,000 each.

The Prime Minister’s Office shared the following statement:

“PM @narendramodi spoke to Railway Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw and took stock of the situation in the wake of the unfortunate train derailment between Alamanda and Kantakapalle section. Authorities are providing all possible assistance to those affected. The Prime Minister extends condolences to the bereaved families and prays that the injured recover soon.”

“The Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from the PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased due to the train derailment between Alamanda and Kantakapalle section. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.”
