New Delhi, India: In November 2023, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) demonstrated unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of passengers, securing remarkable achievements under various operations.
Under Operation “NanheFaristey,” RPF played a pivotal role in reuniting more than 520 lost children with their families. The mission focused on providing care and protection to children separated from their families for various reasons.
Efforts to combat human trafficking were intensified through Operation AAHT, resulting in the rescue of 35 individuals from the clutches of traffickers.
Under Operation “Jeevan Raksha,” RPF’s swift action saved the lives of 224 passengers who accidentally fell while boarding or deboarding moving trains.
RPF’s initiative “Meri Saheli” aimed at empowering women passengers, with 229 teams attending 13,552 trains, providing security assurance to 410,259 lady passengers, and taking action against 4618 individuals found in coaches reserved for women.
Operation “Uplabdh” targeted touts, leading to the arrest of 392 individuals and the seizure of future tickets valued at Rs. 42.28 lakhs.
In the fight against drug crimes, Operation “NARCOS” resulted in the arrest of 91 individuals and the seizure of narcotics valued at Rs. 3.69 crores.
RPF promptly addressed security-related passenger complaints through Rail Madad Portal and the helpline (No. 139 integrated with Emergency Response Support System No. 112), with over 21,800 complaints received in November 2023.
Operation “Yatri Suraksha” saw RPF arresting 229 criminals involved in offenses against passengers, delivering them to the concerned GRP/Police.
Under “Operation Sanraksha,” RPF arrested 28 individuals involved in the perilous act of stone pelting on running trains.
In a humanitarian approach, Operation Seva provided assistance to 191 elderly, sick, or injured passengers during their rail travels.
Operation Satark focused on curbing illegal goods transport, resulting in the seizure of illegal tobacco products and illegal liquor worth Rs. 10,54,630, with 67 individuals apprehended and handed over to relevant Law Enforcement Agencies.
