NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) initiative, ‘Cyber Surakshit Bharat,’ was conceived with the mission to raise awareness about cybercrime and enhance the capacities of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and frontline IT officials across all government departments. The goal is to ensure adequate safety measures are in place to combat the growing menace of cybercrime, enabling organizations to defend their digital infrastructures and become future-ready in tackling cyber-attacks.
Under its Capacity Building scheme, the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is organizing the 41st CISO Deep-Dive training programme from January 16 – 20, 2024, with participants from Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, New Delhi, Odisha & West Bengal, at the National Law University in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The program was inaugurated on January 16 by senior officers from NeGD, MeitY, and NISG.
The aim of the program is to spread awareness, build capacities, and enable government departments to take steps to create a cyber-resilient ecosystem. The program seeks to sensitize and orient participants on cyber safety and security, advancing the Digital India program for the integrated delivery of various government services to citizens. It aims to present a holistic understanding of cyber security and empower government departments to manage their cyber hygiene, safety, and security.
From June 2018 to December 2023, NeGD has effectively conducted 41 batches of CISO deep-dive training programs for over 1,548 CISOs and frontline IT officials.
