New Delhi: Union Minister for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Jitan Ram Manjhi, administered a pledge on ‘TB Mukt Bharat’ on Tuesday. The entire Ministry, including field offices such as KVIC, NSIC, Coir Board, ni-msme, MGIRI, DFOs, Tool Rooms, and Technology Centres, participated virtually.
The Ministry of MSME is a key partner in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s 100-day intensified campaign for TB Mukt Bharat. This campaign, which began on 7 December 2024, will run until 24 March 2025. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has identified 347 high-priority districts across 33 states and union territories. The campaign aims to mobilise resources, raise awareness, and implement targeted action in these priority areas.
Currently, 58.8 million MSMEs are registered, employing approximately 249.8 million people. The Ministry, through its field offices and industry associations, will support awareness initiatives for the TB Mukt Bharat campaign. In collaboration with state health departments, Ni-kshay Shivir (screening camps) will be organised in MSME and industrial hubs from 3 to 15 February 2025. This joint effort demonstrates a ‘whole-of-government approach’ for greater impact and outreach.
Jitan Ram Manjhi affirmed the Ministry of MSME’s support for this initiative. He also emphasised the importance of a clean environment, nutritious food, and raising awareness among TB patients, particularly in rural areas, to encourage them to seek treatment. He wished the campaign great success.
