New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, chaired a high-level review meeting on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi today. The meeting was attended by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, the Chief Secretary, and the Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
Amit Shah also held an important review meeting yesterday on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, which was attended by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, the Home Secretary, and other senior officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Army.
During the meeting, the Home Minister stated that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to completely eradicating terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir. He said that due to the sustained and coordinated efforts of the Modi government, the terrorism network in Jammu and Kashmir has been significantly weakened. The Home Minister instructed all security agencies to intensify their fight against terrorism with a goal of ‘zero infiltration’. He urged security agencies to take stricter measures against infiltration and acts of terror with a ruthless approach, aiming to eliminate the presence of terrorists entirely.
Amit Shah highlighted that the narcotics network is aiding infiltrators and terrorists in their activities. He stressed the need for swift and decisive action against terror funding generated from the narcotics trade.
He also directed agencies to make new appointments in the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to ensure the timely implementation of the new criminal laws.
Amit Shah reiterated the Modi government’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against terrorism to achieve a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir. He instructed all security agencies to remain vigilant and continue working in coordination to eliminate terrorism in the region.
The Home Minister praised the efforts of the security agencies for the significant improvement in all aspects of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
