Delhi: The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed separate agreements with PhonePe and Shell India Pvt. Ltd. to provide DPIIT-recognised startups with greater access to digital infrastructure, mentorship, markets, industry networks and investment opportunities.
The Memoranda of Understanding were signed on August 19 under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s efforts to support startups and promote innovation across different sectors.
PhonePe to offer digital and business support
Under its agreement with DPIIT, PhonePe will provide recognised startups with transaction credits through its Payment Gateway, access to the Indus AppStore and dedicated onboarding and support services.
Startups will also get opportunities for greater brand visibility. PhonePe will conduct regular masterclasses and webinars covering areas such as fintech, sales, go-to-market strategies and business scaling.
The sessions are intended to help startups build their business capabilities and support their growth.
Shell India partnership focuses on energy and climate tech
DPIIT’s partnership with Shell India will focus on startups working in the energy and climate-tech sectors.
Shell India will provide mentorship and strategic guidance, along with connections to investors and incubators. Eligible startups will also get opportunities to participate in the Shell E4 Smart Energy Track.
The partnership is intended to help energy and climate-tech startups access growth opportunities and scale their solutions while contributing to India’s clean energy transition.
Shell India and DPIIT will also work on knowledge-sharing through sectoral success stories, white papers, policy briefs, industry landscape reports and case studies. These will cover emerging innovations and practices within the energy and climate-tech startup ecosystem.
Together, the two partnerships are expected to give startups wider access to technology, industry expertise, mentorship, market connections and investment opportunities, helping them expand their businesses and develop new products and solutions.
