Medilytix Bureau: Mahindra ahindra & Mahindra has unveiled the XUV400 electric SUV. The car is the first product in the electric-only XUV sub-brand to feature the copper twin-peaks logo. The car is based on the eXUV300 concept car that the brand showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and is the direct rival of India’s most popular electric car, the Tata Nexon EV.
Design-wise, the car is based on the XUV300, with certain changes, the biggest one being the size. While the ICE XUV300 is 3995mm long, the electric Mahindra XUV400 measures 4200mm in length, courtesy of a redesign of the rear end. The front features a blocked-off grille, with satin-copper arrowhead inserts and a bumper garnish with projector headlamps and LED DRLs. The rear gets LED taillamps, which retain the shape but get new copper details. It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels. There are four colour options- Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black and Infinity Blue which can be paired with a satin-copper roof.
While the wheelbase is same as the XUV300 at 2,600mm, the electric XUV400 is longer by 205mm.
The cabin layout has been carried over from the XUV300, but now gets a darker trim with copper highlights. The 7-inch infotainment display is the same as well, but comes with Mahindra’s AdrenoX user interface, while the instrument cluster uses analogue dials. Mahindra has replaced the gear lever with a new drive selector. In terms of features, the car gets dual-zone climate control, a sunroof, cruise control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and more.
