New Delhi, October 26: The Department of Commerce has extended Component II of the RELIEF initiative, which gives exporters 95 per cent risk coverage on shipments to specified regions, until March 31, 2027.
RELIEF (Resilience & Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation) is a time-bound intervention under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM). The extension was notified through Notification No. 37/2026-27 dated September 30, 2026, in view of continued geopolitical disruptions in West Asia and their effect on maritime logistics across the Gulf and nearby regions.
What exporters get
Component II is meant to encourage exporters to take Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC) cover for upcoming shipments to the specified regions. It applies to Standalone Policies and Whole Turnover Policies taken on or after March 16, 2026.
During the eligible period, the premium paid by eligible exporters is protected from rising above pre-disruption levels. Cargo in Full Container Load (FCL), Less than Container Load (LCL) and refrigerated (reefer) containers is covered. Energy shipments are excluded.
How to claim
Exporters have to submit claims and supporting documents through the ECGC customer portal at www.ecgcltd.in. Video tutorials on ECGC’s YouTube channel explain how to create user IDs and passwords, complete exporter registration and file claims under the initiative.
The government launched RELIEF on March 19, 2026, to support exporters hit by a steep rise in freight costs, higher insurance premiums and war-related risks arising from disruptions in the Gulf and the wider West Asian sea routes.
