New Delhi, September 29: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday opened the Barapullah Elevated Road Phase-3 in Delhi, built at a cost of ₹1,635 crore, and laid the foundation stones for the Modi Mill-Savitri Cinema Flyover and the Loni Underpass. The projects inaugurated and launched on the day are together worth more than ₹1,941 crore.
The new stretch of the Barapullah Elevated Road is meant to give commuters a signal-free link between East and South Delhi, which Shah said would ease traffic jams and cut journey times.

Shah, who is also Minister of Cooperation, dedicated Phase-3 of the elevated road to the people of Delhi. In a post on X, he said the projects were aimed at strengthening the city’s connectivity and making travel easier for residents.
“The Barapullah Elevated Road Phase-3, built at a cost of ₹1,635 crore, was dedicated to Delhi residents today. This will provide signal-free connectivity between East and South Delhi, making commuting smoother, providing relief from traffic jams, and saving travel time,” he wrote.
The Modi Mill-Savitri Cinema Flyover and the Loni Underpass, whose foundation stones were laid on the same day, are part of the same package to strengthen road connectivity in the capital.
